Sponge Comparison

In Japan, an experiment /test was performed comparing the performance and results of various sponge/cleaning materials. Konnyaku Sponge was compared with gauze, nylon towel, normal sponge, it was proven that Konnyaku Sponge cause no harm to the surface of the skin.

Males and females (ranging from 20's to 50's) with dry and sensitive skin participated in an experiment, they were asked to scrub the inside of their wrists 30 to 50 times a day with Konnyaku Sponge, gauze, nylon towel and normal sponge.

After using for 2 weeks, the surface of the skin was observed under the microscope.

The results shows that in the case of the gauze, the nylon towel and normal sponge, the continuity line of the skin was damaged or eliminated. But in the case of Konnyaku Sponge, it was able to remove the dirt on the skin without damaging the skin lines (first column, bottom picture).

In comparison with the gauze, the nylon towel and normal sponge, Konnyaku Sponge also does not dry up the moisture on the skin surface.

If the skin barrier function of the skin is damaged due to over cleansing, the moisture retention capacity of the skin will be decreased resulting in the deterioration of the dry and the sensitive skin.

As Konnyaku Sponge can protect the skin barrier function, it is strongly recommended for individuals with dry and sensitive skin.
